Northants CALC CiLCA Evaluation Framework

The Northants CALC CiLCA Evaluation Framework has been developed to ensure the Northants CALC CiLCA training programme, content and delivery method is current, meets the needs of the learners and supports learners to achieve the CiLCA qualification.

The following provides a 360 approach to evaluating the effectiveness of the Northants CALC CiLCA training programme.

Before training
Training needs analysis

Completed by learner before the programme

The TNA asks learners to rate their knowledge in the areas covered by the CiLCA portfolio. This addresses any gaps in the learner's knowledge and also suggests whether the learner is ready to undertake CiLCA. The trainer uses this to inform the training delivery and this will help to identify any areas of additional support that may be required.

After first session
Course feedback

Completed by learner after first session

The feedback ensures learners are onboard and feeling fully supported after their first session. This will help to identify any areas of additional support that may be required not picked up from the TNA.

Referrals

When assessing learner's work, the assessors may return aspects of the portfolio which require further development - these are referred to as Referrals. The number of referrals received are noted per learning outcome, and this information can then be used to improve the training for those particular learning outcomes.

Ratio of no. attended training vs registration

This shows how many learners go from attending the training to registering for CiLCA; to qualify training as effective this should show an upward trend. This data is provided by NCALC and SLCC.

Ratio of registration vs passes

This shows how many learners go from registering for CiLCA to passing CiLCA; to qualify training as effective this should show an upward trend. This data is provided by SLCC.
