Audit Deadline Approaching

All, I repeat, ALL, parish and town councils and parish meetings must approve and sign at a meeting their Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) by 30 June 2023.  Failure to do so will result in a Qualified Audit Opinion (QAO) and may incur penalties and additional fees.  The AGAR must be submitted to the external auditor, PKF Littlejohn, by Monday 3 July 2023 unless an extension has been requested and granted (but the approval must be by 30 June in any case).  Most parish and town councils will have put this to bed a long time ago, but if you are struggling or have any issues please do contact me for guidance.
